Sunray / Night & Day coaster
Circular Coaster measures approx 9cm diameter x 2 cm tall - hand painted by Clarice Cliff with part of the Sunray / Night & Day pattern in dark blue, prange & yellow with orange banding on a honeydew glaze.
Marked to underside Hand Painted Bizarre by Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery, England.
Good condition for age. Rare and valuable pattern condensed to a simplified form to fit the coaster with the dark blue cloud and water under the bridge separated by bright yellow and black banding.
Sunray (also known as Night & Day) was a pattern in the Bizarre range produced between 1929-30 depicting stylised black skyscrapers between panels of purple and orange sunrays, a bridge with stylised stars in the sky above and a dark blue cloud
